PON XVIII (National Sports Game)
PON XVIII (National Sports Game)
Riau, September 9th-20th, 2012
The PON XVIII has just held in Pekanbaru, Riau Province on September 9th-20th, 2012. Participated by 33 provincial sport committees and 43 sports in Indonesia. President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was officially opened the PON XVIII on September 11th, 2012 and closed by Vice President Budiono on September 20, 2012.
Shorinji Kempo match in PON XVIII was followed by 25 Shorinji Kempo Provincial Branches in Indonesia to fight for 14 numbers of game. Shorinji Kempo match was held from September 15th-19th, 2012 in Siak Sport Hall.
Opened officially by the Siak Regent Mr. Drs H Syamsuar, Msi in his speech he hoped that Shorinji Kempo could be competed comfortly in new Siak Sport Center and he said that Shorinji Kempo was the Riau Province’s primary sport.
Beside the Siak Regent the Opening Ceremony was also attended by Mr. Drs. H. Alfedri, Msi (Vice-Regent of Siak), Mr. Drs, H Amzar (Siak National Sport Committee Chairman), Mr. Ir H Amin Budyani, MM (National Sport Committee Daily Chief).
The last game on number Woman Randori 51 Kg was the most thrilling match where Annisa Fitria from Riau Province fought all-out to win the gold medal. After 3 times matches extension for series she was really a Hero for Riau Province (the Host of PON XVIII) because that was the only Gold Medal that Riau Province got. Another Bronze Medal for Riau Province was got by Jupriadi Kartiko for number Man Randori 60 Kg.
The Big 5 of the winners are DKI Jakarta Province (3-0-4), East Kalimantan Prov. (2-4-2), East Java Prov.(2-3-2), East Nusa Tenggara Prov. (2-3-2), West Sumatra Prov (1-2-3). The winners of this PON XVIII will be the candidates of Indonesian Team to compete in the Islamic Solidarity Games (June 2013) in Indonesia, International Taikai (August 2013) in Osaka and the Sea Games XXVII (December 2013) in Myanmar.

Olahraga Nasional (National Sport Games) is a major multi-sport event
in Indonesia and held every 4 years as the benchmark of Indonesian

PERKEMI East Java Meeting and Reunion
A meeting and the reunion was held recently in Surabaya, East Java on June 26, 2012.
This event in order to strengthen the ties of brotherhood between Junior Kenshi and Senior Kenshi, between the Provincial Official (Pengprov) with District Official (Pengkab) and between Kenshi who is still actively practice with Kenshi who may have been less active, for one reason or another.
President PERKEMI, Kusumo A. Martoredjo said that this activity is considered very good and is expected to grow and develop spirit of Shorinji Kempo martial arts practice in East Java in particular and in Indonesia in general.
Hopefully the positive values of this activity can be maintained and developed, in order to maximize achievement of PERKEMI East Java, he continued.
This meeting was also attended by Secretary-General PB PERKEMI Ruddy Manoppo Sensei assist the President Perkemi.
Some old generation East Java Kenshi also could be seen attending this Meeting and Reunion such as Sensei/ Sempay : Arman Harahap, Wartojo, Reza Rivai, Edy Rosidi, Indra Iskandar, Wirasmo, Virly Ardianto, Hari Baskoro, Soegiono, Bernard Laisina, Ibnu Widagdo, Hermin Iskandar, Yayuk Iskandar, Muhaiki, Didy Indra Y., Hendra Untoro, Chandra Untoro, Katam, Danu, Anwar, Komang, Dhita, Ermandharu, Milton, Handoko – Bojonegoro, Jamhuri Djauhari, Daud Tatengkeng, Erna Anggraeni, Gusti Ganggut and many other East Java Kenshi.
This event was initiated by PERKEMI East Java Chairman Harry Baskoro (IV-Dan) and supported by the Rector of the University of Narotama, Yayu Iskandar (II-Dan).

Indonesian Shorinji Kempo National Student Championship
On
June 28-30, 2012 the Indonesian Shorinji Kempo National Student
Championship has held in Tangerang Indoor Stadium, Tangerang City, West
Java. This Championship attended by 400 Kenshi who study at Junior High
School and Senior High School from all over the cities in Indonesia.
These Student Kenshi are between the ages of 13-18 years and expected to be the next generation of PERKEMI.
President Perkemi Kusumo A. Martoredjo in his speech hopes that the Kenshi is not only a Shorinji Kempo Champion but must also win the best ranking in School. Provincial Officials (Pengprov) should not hold the Kenshi who practice diligently to attend the Dan Grading, Pengprov should instead give support.
While the Vice Chairman of the National Sport Committee (KONI) said that he feels proud of the achievements of Tangerang City Shorinji Kempo which is now a mainstay sport in Tangerang City.
The 1st Overall Winner (Senior High School category ) is SMAN 1 Amsir, Pare-pare, Sulawesi – 2nd Overall Winner is SMUN 3, Bogor, West Java and 3rd Overall Winner is SMUN 4, Sukabumi, West Java.
The 1st Overall Winner (Junior High School category) is SMAN 1 Bantan, Bengkalis, Riau, Sumatra – 2nd Overall Winner is SMP Kosgoro, Bogor, West Java – 3rd Overall Winner is SMP Kota Malang, East Java.

Special Dan Grading May 2012 at Honbu

Indonesian senior Kenshi : Boy Adiwibowo and Maridi Kartasasmita have
successfully passed the Special Dan Grading Examination in Shorinji
Kempo Headquarter (Honbu), Japan recently.
Adhiwibowo sensei passed into V-Dan and Maridi sensei passed into IV-Dan.
Besides that 2 others, Suprayogi and Alaudin Zen from East Kalimantan Branch have also passed into V-Dan.
The Shorinji Kempo’s Shike, Yuki So directly gave the diploma for them on May 19, 2012.
Congratulations on their success may be useful for the development of Kempo in Indonesia.
